Doug Burgum Endorses Tammy Miller for Governor

Governor Doug Burgum endorsed Tammy Miller for Governor today, saying she was the best person to take on the role of North Dakota’s chief executive.
Last week, North Dakota’s great Lieutenant Governor Tammy Miller announced she is running for Governor. Today, I’m thrilled to give Tammy my complete and total endorsement.
Like President Trump and me, Tammy is a political outsider and conservative business leader. I’ve known Tammy for over two decades – and I’ve seen how she leads with purpose and values. Early in her career, Tammy took a risk and joined a small electrical wholesaler as a CPA in the accounting department. Tammy worked her way up – all the way up – to become CEO of Border States Electric where she led a great company to new heights.
There she led over three thousand five hundred employee owners across 29 states, all from right here in North Dakota.
Tammy knows hard work and she understands transformative leadership – and she has stayed deeply rooted in humility and gratitude. Those values come straight from the small town of Brocket, ND where she grew up working at the Miller family lumber and hardware store.
Tammy’s work in the private sector impressed me so much I asked her to become our state’s 39th Lt. Governor. With her help – we’ve transformed government, cut taxes, slashed red tape and diversified the economy. Yet Tammy knows there is more to accomplish, and we can’t let up now.
She’ll keep driving for innovation, not regulation and help every North Dakotan reach their fullest potential. Tammy understands what it takes be a great – conservative – governor, and I know she will keep North Dakota rolling on the right track.
